Sunday January 11, 2015 | St. Luke's Church | Katonah, NY | The concert will feature solos, duets, a jazz quartet, and five original compositions by Jim Skinger, who describes his music as “classical in nature with a jazz harmonic structure.” He adds: “I suppose you could say that my music has been inspired by the musicians and friends from my performing and travels. The artists and friends who have joined forces for this concert will bring a special combination of talent and we will together create a unique experience." All musicians are donating their time and talent for the fundraiser, and will be available afterwards at the reception. |

Saturday June 16, 2012 | Congregation Adath Israel | Newtown, CT | Jim Skinger, guitarist from Goldens Bridge NY, is the leader of the group which also includes Keyboardist: Doug Malfer, Bassist: Claude Preece and Flutist/Saxophonist: Ericka Schlenkermann. Mr. Skinger has performed at Carnegie Hall, Royal Festival Hall, London, and throughout Europe as well as locally. This summer he will be performing in the Czech Republic.
Organizer Rita Frost ,of Newtown, is so excited to bring "Jade" to our town. "Wow the group’s finger snapping rhythms captivate you so , that your body can't stop swinging and swaying! Their Brazilian numbers are particularly compelling. The group is very accomplished and are classically trained as well." When asked about their name, Skinger explains "Jade is a precious stone and that is what I think of my musicians. To have this much talent in one ensemble is quite rare and precious." Skinger has also taught at Clark University and SUNY Purchase.
